chad thinks it's really funny that i consider crochet one of my hobbies yet in the four years that he's known me, he has never witnessed the completion of a single crochet project. i am notorious for buying lots of yarn, searching for all kinds of patterns online or in books, crocheting like mad for an hour or two... and then forever abandoning the not-even-close-to-being-finished item under the bed or in a drawer somewhere. never to be seen again. i admit it. in all my years of crocheting (my mom taught me when i was just a kid), i can probably count the number of projects that i've actually finished on one hand.
so when i mentioned that i was going to start crocheting stuff for the baby, chad was more than a little dubious. but HA - i did it! i started and finished a pair of mary jane booties for bean today. here they are. not bad, right?
the secret to my success?... crochet things that are so tiny that they can be finished in an hour or two. i thought about attempting a little sweater, too. but honestly, who am i kidding?
